Wiel Arets developed LaCucinaAlessi by Valcucine
2012 once again brings together two all-Italian companies celebrated for their unwavering commitment to excellence and product development: Alessi, known for its fervent creativity, and Valcucine, which combines new technologies with top quality craftsmanship. Together they will be working on a contract project developed by Dutch architect Wiel Arets: LaCucinaAlessi by Valcucine.
As Alberto Alessi explains, the typical features of Wiel Arets's design approach are firmly in evidence: “…the tendency for the parts to be regular, without however being minimalist in a reductive sense, the inclusion of a high level of intellectual complexity, but also tangibility and formal simplicity, enable him to produce extremely refined results”.
For this new project of LaCucinaAlessi by Valcucine, specifically conceived for the contract world, Wiel Arets has designed an all-in-one unit in Corian Glacier White with rounded edges and corners, distinctive for the complete absence of visible joints. It comes in three versions: an island version, an island version with two additional columns, and a wall version, which can be altered and personalised to fit the requirements of supply requests in the contract sector.
A project, with all its little peculiarities, that was made possible thanks to Italian savoir faire, which combines deep-rooted craftsmanship with new technological expertise typical of cutting-edge manufacturers: Alessi and Valcucine are the embodiment of this.
LaCucinaAlessi by Valcucine is completed by a tap, also designed by Wiel Arets and produced by the Finnish Oras, which stands out for the wide 48 mm diameter of the spout, the same as that of the pillar and the handle.
