A traditional kitchen design inside an exclusive apartment in Bogotà
Situated in a strategically location, this enchanting apartment with its traditional kitchen design, is embraced by the majestic Eastern Hills, a mountain range that functions as the vital lungs of Bogotá, Colombia.
Enhancing its appeal, the residence enjoys close proximity to Carrera 7, also recognized as Avenida Alberto Lleras Camargo, a key road named in honor of a former president and admired citizen. This significant roadway gracefully traverses the city from south to north, solidifying its position as one of the capital's vital channel.
Proyecto 5-93, designed by A. Cohen architecture, with its breathtaking 360° panoramic view captures the essence of both the cityscape and the Eastern Hills.
This sought-after plot has allowed the development to include 2,000 m² of common areas, designed for the residents' pleasure. These common spaces encompass meeting rooms, event venues, boardrooms, and a theater.
Additionally, the project boasts an expansive wellness area, featuring a 25-meter-long swimming pool, Turkish bath, sauna, massage area, and a fully-equipped gym. In essence, it offers a residential experience akin to the comfort and amenities found in upscale hotels and resorts.
The owners of this exclusive apartment, designed by Aitkenstudio, have masterfully blended the traditional kitchen, the sophisticated dining area, and the spacious living room into a seamless and harmonious unity.
This transformation unfolds gradually along the connecting terrace, where the kitchen generously extends into the social area, establishing a natural gathering point for friends and family.
Inside this unique background, Forma Mentis features a double island, each with a distinct purpose. One island, facing the dining area, encompasses low storage cabinets, a wine cellar, and a spacious top in grey Lapitec finish with an auxiliary sink, a perfect setup for washing food and glassware.
The second island, oriented towards the social area, houses a gas stove with a generous workspace. The focal point of the kitchen is the Aerius wall-hung System, adding sophistication with its Warm Black Gloss Glass door. Adjacent cabinets containing ovens contribute to making this area visually captivating.
Facing the terrace, refrigeration systems, including a refrigerator, freezer, and wine cellar—all concealed behind paneled doors—along with pantry cabinets, seamlessly create a unified design throughout the kitchen. The cabinets are complemented by an upper drawer in natural Walnut Wood details, creating a captivating contrast through material combination.
Covering an impressive area of 33m2, the kitchen's distribution is meticulously designed to seamlessly connect with the social area, featuring well-defined work points for washing, cooking, and preparation. The selected finishes, including natural wood on the islands, and high-pressure laminate on the door and drawer fronts, contribute to an efficient and sophisticated space.
This amazing kitchen project was entirely managed by our local partner The Architektur.
Lighting is employed as a design element, creating various visual effects through perimeter lighting, fixtures, and lamps, accentuating the apartment's overall aesthetic appeal.
“The owners of this apartment are a family in which the relationship with the kitchen is fundamental in the structure of their social life. For this reason, the entire space dedicated to it integrates to become a single unit, gradually blending with the external terrace.“
