Final round of Ideasxwood 2022 design competition: winners announced at Triennale
On Tuesday, September 13, the final ceremony of Ideasxwood 2022 was held in Milan at the Triennale, an international contest in the wood industry promoted by TABU (Italian excellence in wood dyeing) and supported by ADI, FederlegnoArredo and FSC® Italia.
The initiative, now in its fourth year, involved university students and designers Under 40 years old with the aim of supporting the knowledge of wood and its importance as a noble, living and renewable raw material.
The finalist projects were selected by a renowned jury chaired by Arch. Franco Raggi and made up of architects, journalists, ADI and FSC® Italian managers.
Valcucine, Ideasxwood 2022 partner with Driade and FontanaArte, joined the awards ceremony by presenting the 1st place award in the Student category to Giovanni Di Mauro for the “Ulivo” project with the following reason:
“…for its elegant aesthetic solution and affinity with the values of sustainability consistent with Valcucine's philosophy including the selection of eco-friendly woods. In nature, substances circulate, are transformed and everything is eventually reabsorbed and reused. We must learn to reduce the amount of waste and encourage reuse and recycling of materials in every possible way.” said Maurizio Vianello.
Thanks to Ideasxwood, each year thousands of students and young designers discover in wood a prodigious, noble, living, renewable material, and learn about the existence and importance of forestry certifications such as FSC®, which ensures that wood comes from forests managed with strict respect for Nature and the Peoples living on the edge of the forest.
