Precious and refined, marble represents elegance and timeless style and is able to uniquely enhance any setting,
be it classical or contemporary.

Although the most well-known is definitely white Carrara marble, there are many other types offering an incredible
variety of colours and hues.

Its physical features make marble quite a vulnerable material that may be subject to chipping and scratches.
Moreover, it is porous which means that it absorbs the elements it comes into contact with, making it stain easily.
That’s why it must be carefully looked after and cleaned without using aggressive products that may alter its
properties. Even weak acids such as those contained in vinegar, lemon, tea and coffee will corrode it, leaving a dull
stain behind. If spills should occur the best thing to do is to absorb the liquid as soon as possible.

Nevertheless, marble’s disadvantages shouldn’t discourage people from choosing this natural material that is
a great asset for any kitchen. It’s important to take care of it by following the right cleaning and maintenance
guidelines, keeping in mind that choosing natural stone means accepting that small imperfections and a worn effect
are inevitable features that belong exclusively to natural materials.
